Dear
Friends and Family
We recently returned from South America. This is the fifth
trip we have taken to Venezuela and the first to Columbia. Mick taught in two
schools in Columbia. One was a morning and evening school in a small town
called Pelaya and the other was in the neighborhoods of Las Palmas and
Esperada. The teaching was centered primarily on the person and the
manifestations of the Holy Spirit. God moved in some wonderful and mighty ways
as He always does.
There is something we would like to share with you. About
three months ago we received a request to pray about starting a church in
Venezuela. We were willing to pray but didn’t think that was the way the Lord
was taking us. In all honesty we weren’t exactly sure where the Lord was taking
us but it certainly didn’t seem to be the starting of a church on the mission
field. After all, our children (and our grandchildren) had moved back to
Nashville after being gone for a number of years and Mick was working with a
company he enjoyed and ministering in different churches on the weekends. It
seemed like things were progressing in a positive direction. To move to
Venezuela would require us to sell and/or store what we have in the states and
to leave here with what we could carry on a plane to start a new work in a
foreign land where we don’t speak the language. The logistics of the move and
the amount of money we would need would be overwhelming. So we prayed but
didn’t think it would happen.
We were wrong. We prayed and try as we might to go in a
different direction, the leading to start a mission church wouldn’t leave but
keep growing stronger and stronger. After much prayer and many confirmations we
now know that this is the plan that the Lord has for us in this season of our
lives and ministry. Did we see it coming? Obviously not. We didn’t see the
signposts out in front of us marking our path to this point. However, when we
look back we see that the signposts were there all along and we realize that
God has been preparing us for and leading us to this for many years.
We’ll be moving out of our house the end of September and
leaving for Venezuela between the 1st and 3rd of
November. For the month of October we will be staying with friends and family.

We have a website which is currently under construction. We
hope to have it in both English and Spanish eventually. The web address is www.mjhmin.com Our email address for information will be info@mjhmin.com We’ll be glad to keep you
updated on the church’s progress.
So with a new vision and direction we’ll be leaving the
first part of November 2006 to begin this work in South America. We’re in the
process of preparation to accomplish all the things that need to be done before
we leave, so if we seem somewhat preoccupied please overlook it. There is much
to be done. Please pray for us that we’ll have the grace and the wisdom to get
everything done in excellence and in a timely manner.
The expenses to start will be great and our God is well able
to supply. We urge you to pray about what the Lord would have your part to be
financially in both the start-up costs and /or a commitment to monthly support
for this mission. It’s not that we desire a gift but that the vision would be
accomplished and fruit would abound to your account.
No vision that is from God is ever for one person nor
fulfilled by one but it is attained by all who take hold of it. So we ask you
to take hold and run with us. Whatever you can do we thank you for it and
praise God with you and for you.
In His Love
Mick & Jean
